State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) is hosting a free Prescription Drug Drop-Off event with Pledge for Life Partnership Life Education Center and Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (KAMEG) from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30th at the Northfield Square Mall (1600 N. State Route 50, Bourbonnais).
“Members of the community will be able to come and dispose of their unused or expired prescription drugs in a safe way, ensuring these drugs don’t fall into the wrong hands or put other community members at risk,” Rep. Haas said. “I look forward to seeing everyone there!”
Community members are invited to drop off expired or unused medications to be properly disposed of. Accepted items include prescription medications including tablets, capsules, and other solid forms of prescription drugs, patches, and vaping devices and cartridges with their lithium batteries removed. Restricted items include liquids, syringes, needles, and illegal drugs.
