State Representative Jackie Haas, R-Kankakee, issued the following statement after the passage of her House Resolution 0056 which designates the portion of Illinois Route 1 from Wichert Road to St. Anne as the “Honorary Jack Sikma Road”:
“I am very pleased that we were able to get this resolution passed unanimously out of the House. Jack is such a great person who has left a long lasting positive impact not only on the community in my district, but on the country as well. He may be a Hall of Fame basketball player, but he is equally kind, humble, and caring. I’m happy we were able to do this to honor him in his home town.”
Representative Haas serves the 79th District, including parts or all of Kankakee, Will, and Grundy Counties.
