State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) is hosting the “Valentines for Veterans” program for the second year. Representative Haas invites all community members of the 79th District to participate in making handmade valentine greetings with well-wishes to our veterans. Valentines will be accepted at her district office, 370 E. Court Street in Kankakee, until February 10th.
“These valentines are a small token of our appreciation for the great service and sacrifice our veterans made to protect us and keep us safe,” Haas said. “These past couple of years have been difficult for many, especially those living in homes who have had to be away from family and friends. This is our chance to show our vets the love and appreciation they deserve.”
All ages are invited to create a card or drawing. The cards will be delivered to 79th District veterans at the Manteno Veterans Home in time for Valentine’s Day.
