Haas Joins Pre-Tax Day Calls for Relief for Illinois Taxpayers

SPRINGFIELD – Today, State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) joined State Representatives Jeff Keicher (R-Sycamore) and Joe Sosnowski (R-Rockford) in a pre-tax day press conference discussing much-needed relief for all Illinoisans.

“With tax day right around the corner, Illinois families are feeling the strain of a bloated tax burden and a poor job market,” said Rep. Haas. “Hardworking men and women are the ones who will suffer the most if we don’t get our house in order and start focusing on passing good public policy to make it easier to live in Illinois.

“But the House Republican Caucus doesn’t just point out issues, we offer real and tangible solutions. My colleagues and I have been introducing legislation focused on tackling the tax burden, supporting workers and families, and lowering the cost of living.

“Unfortunately, none of these bills passed committee, and none will be called for a vote on the House floor. This cannot continue. Illinoisans deserve a government that works for them, not one that insists on growing their out-of-control spending habits on the taxpayers’ dime.”
