Capitol Visitors!

It was another busy week in Springfield with many visitors and advocates from the district and across the state! Thank you to everyone who stopped by, including those I spoke to but didn’t manage to get a picture with.

District Events

This morning I attended the garden of prayer youth center parent mentor group meeting! I enjoyed speaking with these active parent mentors who provide such a valuable service to our students! Keep up the great work!

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the 1999 Bourbonnais Amtrak train derailment. I had the pleasure of attending a ceremony in remembrance of this event which honored the 11 lives lost in this horrific tragedy. We also thank the entire community and first responders who worked tirelessly at the scene, and for many days following the event.
