Emerging Women Leaders Event
The Emerging Women Leaders Event is meant to honor local women who are rising in their roles as leaders and to provide them an opportunity to learn from and network with other women. The day-long event was filled with a brunch, listening session, and informational seminars.
This year, I had the honor of welcoming Lamekia Davis and Liz Gibson to the Emerging Women Leaders event! Lamekia Davis is a Financial Literacy Advocate and a member of the Rich Township District 227 Board of Education. Liz Gibson is the Regional Council Manager of Region 32 for Birth to Five Illinois. Thank you to Lamekia and Liz for attending this event, you are both such assets to the 79th District!
I also want to thank Angie Hampton and Stacie Kemp for presenting the “Put Your Own Oxygen Mask on First” breakout learning session! I have known both Angie and Stacie in my role as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for years, and I am so grateful that they made the trip to Springfield to discuss the importance of self-care as a leader!
Capitol Visitors!
Thank you to all of the visitors who stopped by to say hello while in the Capitol! It’s always so exciting to meet with local leaders and constituents in Springfield!
