KANKAKEE – For her June 2023 Local Business Spotlight, State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) is honoring Terrell’s Eat the Bone BBQ in Monee. She presented a certificate of recognition to owners Gerard and Carol Terrell on Wednesday.
“The perfect comfort food for 79th District constituents, I’m happy to recognize Terrell’s Eat the Bone BBQ as the June Local Business Spotlight,” said Rep. Haas. “With delicious ribs, brisket, pulled pork, and sour cream pound cake, it’s easy to understand this is ‘Where the sauce is optional.’ Whether at a summer barbecue, a fall bonfire, or a snowy winter night, Terrell’s Eat the Bone BBQ is the perfect local restaurant to enjoy some delicious barbecue.”
Terrell’s Eat the Bone BBQ was founded by brothers Gerard and Bernard Terrell six years ago. For over 25 years, they watched their grandfather at the grill every holiday for hours, waiting to taste the ribs while he gave ample attention to ensure the ribs would never burn. Gerard and Bernard spent 25 years cooking for family events and holidays, then took on the title of “Grill Master” because of their old school approach to smoking and grilling meats and poultry.
The business began as a mobile business, then found a permanent location on March 31st, 2022. At Terrell’s Eat the Bone BBQ, the brothers ensure the same care and patience is paid to their food as their grandfather’s was. Their recipe for the best barbecue around is homemade dry rub, sweet fruit wood, and a few hours of smoking so the sauce can be optional. For people who like sauce, a choice of sauce comes with each order.
In addition to their restaurant, Terrell’s Eat the Bone BBQ offers full catering and has karaoke every Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Terrell’s Eat the Bone BBQ is located at 25655 S Governor’s Highway in Monee. It is open on Wednesday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Constituents can nominate a local business in the 79th District that they love by contacting Rep. Haas’ office via phone or email.
