KANKAKEE – With other community partners, State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) is co-hosting a Prescription Drug Drop Off event in Bourbonnais. She invites 79th District constituents to join her on Saturday, April 29th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Northfield Square Mall East Parking Lot (1600 N State Route 50, Bourbonnais).
“While the weather is still winter-like, many of us may be doing spring cleaning in the 79th District!” said Rep. Haas. “A top priority should be safely disposing unused or expired prescription medications to ensure they do not end up in the wrong hands. I look forward to hosting this event with other community leaders to provide this safe, easy option to dispose of these medications.”
Constituents can look for the Pledge for Life Partnership Tent located near the LensCrafters entrance on the east side of the mall. Accepted medications include tablets, capsules, other solid forms of prescription drugs, patches, and vaping devices and cartridges (lithium batteries removed). Restricted items include liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes, and needles.
This is a free drive-up event, also hosted by State Senator Patrick Joyce (D-Essex), Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (KAMEG), local law enforcement, Pledge for Life Partnership’s Youth Advisory Council, I-KAN Regional Office of Education’s Life Education Center, and the Kankakee County Health Department.
Constituents can call Rep. Haas’ office with questions at (815) 523-7779.
