REP. HAAS TO HOST PRESCRIPTION RX DROP OFF EVENT

State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) is hosting a prescription drug drop-off event in partnership with the Kankakee County Metropolitan Enforcement Group and the Pledge for Life Partnership Life Education Center. The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 23rd from 10:00am—2:00pm at Northfield Square Mall, 1600 N. State Route 50, Bourbonnais.

Area residents are invited to drop off expired or unused medications to be properly disposed of. Accepted items that residents may drop off include prescription medications, prescription ointments and patches, vitamins, and pet medicines. Restricted items include needles and illegal drugs.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to dispose of your unused or unwanted medications,” Rep. Haas said. “By making sure they’re properly disposed of, we can prevent them from putting other community members at risk or falling into the wrong hands.”

This is an outdoor drive thru event—residents can look for the tent at the main entrance—but there will also be an inside drop off option available should there be inclement weather. Drivers should follow the marked lanes when entering and exiting the parking lot.

For any further questions about the event please contact the Representative’s District Office at 815-523-7779.
