Restaurant Worker Appreciation Week

Following a conversation with constituent Gary Koch this spring, State Rep. Jackie Haas (R-79) was reminded that the plight of restaurant workers had continued even more than a year into the COVID-19 pandemic. In an effort to provide special recognition to these hardworking individuals who overcame significant, unprecedented and persistent challenges, Rep. Haas introduced legislation to do just that. House Resolution 281 was adopted by the Illinois House of Representatives and officially declares May 10-14, 2021 “Restaurant Worker Appreciation Week” in Illinois! H.R. 281 received full support from Illinois lawmakers on both sides of the aisle.
