State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) is continuing the “Valentines for Veterans” program started by Representative Lindsay Parkhurst. Representative Haas invites students and other interested citizens to make handmade valentine greetings with well-wishes to our veterans who served our country with pride.
These valentines are a small token of our appreciation for the great service and sacrifice our veterans made to protect us and keep us safe,” Haas said. “This year has been difficult for many, especially those living in homes who have had to be away from family and friends. This is our chance to show our Vets the love and appreciation they deserve,” Haas said. “Let’s honor them on Valentine’s Day for loving our country and keeping us safe.”
All ages are invited to create a card or drawing. Valentines should be delivered to Rep. Haas’ office at 370 E. Court Street in Kankakee by February 8. The cards will be delivered to 79th District veterans at the Manteno Veteran’s Home in time for Valentine’s Day.
