KANKAKEE – Following an April announcement by Governor JB Pritzker of $6.6 million in tourism grants, State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) is recognizing the Kankakee County Convention & Visitors Bureau (KCCVB) for receiving over $16,500 in grant money. This funding was granted through the Illinois Travel and Tourism Grant Program.
“The Kankakee County Convention & Visitors Bureau is a phenomenal resource for people visiting Kankakee County from around Illinois and our country,” said Rep. Haas. “They are deserving of this grant funding and I look forward to how they will implement this to attract visitors and enrich the experience of visiting Kankakee County.”
The Kankakee County Convention & Visitors Bureau was founded in 1983 to champion Kankakee County as an overnight visitor destination. It includes 22 communities and trumpets hotels, entertainment, dining, shopping, and cultural attractions for visitors to Kankakee County. Their mission is to market and brand these experiences to enhance Kankakee County communities’ economic growth and quality of life.
