KANKAKEE – Following the announcement of the 2024 Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) Small Equipment Grant Program recipients, State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) released the following statement.
“I am thrilled to hear about the Small Equipment Grants that are being awarded to three fire protection districts in District 79,” said Rep. Haas. “Our firefighters work tirelessly to keep our community safe and ensuring they have the proper equipment and protection is the least we can do for them.”
The three districts awarded grants in District 79 include the Braceville Fire Protection District, the Kankakee Township Fire Protection District, and the Steger Estates Fire Protection District.
Rep. Haas concluded, “I also want to thank the Office of the Illinois State Fire Marshal for awarding these much-needed grants to fire departments across the state. This funding will go a long way towards protecting those who protect us.”
