Rep. Haas Celebrates District 79 Library Grants

KANKAKEE- Following the School District Library Grant program announcement made by Illinois Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) released the following statement:

“I am thrilled that seven libraries in District 79 have been selected to receive grants through the Illinois Secretary of State Office’s School District Library Grant program,” said Rep. Haas. “Libraries are an incredible resource in our community and provide a safe environment for everyone.”

The libraries in District 79 that have been selected for this grant program are:

  • Bourbonnais Elementary School District 53 – $1,897.66
  • Bradley Elementary School District 61 – $1,019.52
  • Bradley-Bourbonnais Community High School District 307 – $1,584.66
  • Reed-Custer Community School District 255U – $1,107.14
  • Herscher Community Unit School District 2 – $1,389.42
  • Kankakee School District 111 – $3,426.83
  • Park Forest-Chicago Heights School District 163 – $1,234.58

Rep. Haas continued, “I want to thank the Illinois Secretary of State’s Office for investing in our local libraries. These investments will help build a better future for the next generation by promoting the importance of literacy and education. I look forward to seeing the growth of our libraries in District 79.”
