Rep. Haas Hosts Fall Prescription Drug Drop Off in Bourbonnais

KANKAKEE – With community partners, State Representative Jackie Haas (R-Kankakee) is co-hosting a Prescription Drug Drop Off event in Bourbonnais. She invites 79th District constituents to join her on Saturday, October 28th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Northfield Square Mall East Parking Lot (1600 N State Route 50, Bourbonnais).

“While we look to the colder months, we may be clearing out our medicine cabinets and need to know how to properly dispose of prescription medications,” said Rep. Haas. “Safely disposing unused or expired prescription medications is crucial to keeping our communities safe. I look forward to hosting this event again in the fall to provide a safe option for 79th District constituents.”

Constituents can find the Pledge for Life Partnership Tent located near the LensCrafters entrance on the east side of the mall. Accepted medications include tablets, capsules, other solid forms of prescription drugs, patches, and vaping devices and cartridges (lithium batteries remove). Restricted items include liquids (including intravenous solutions), syringes, and needles.

This is a free drive-up event, also hosted by Pledge for Life Partnership, I-KAN Regional Office’s Life Education Center, Kankakee Area Metropolitan Enforcement Group (KMEG), and the Kankakee County Health Department. Constituents can call Rep. Haas’ office with questions at (815) 523-7779.
