State Representative Jackie Haas, R-Kankakee, released the following statement after receiving the Outstanding Legislator Award from the Southland Black Chamber of Commerce and Industry:
“It truly is an honor to be recognized in this way. My primary goal as a State Representative is to write and pass legislation that helps the members of my community. Being able to take the work I do outside of being a State Rep. and translating that into the committees I serve on, and the legislation I sponsor and co-sponsor, is what has given me the ability to pass truly meaningful bills. Having the Southland Black Chamber of Commerce and Industry recognize my work as ‘outstanding’ is very humbling. I have, and will continue to support, advocate for, and empower local and small business. I will work as hard as possible to continue to pass legislation that serves all of the communities in my district.”
Representative Haas, along with other award recipients, were recognized at the Chamber’s Juneteenth Black Tie Event on Sunday, June 19th.
Representative Haas serves the 79th District, including parts or all of Kankakee, Will, and Grundy Counties.
